Man the months are just flying by! A lot on the go for me at the moment, so I’m gonna make this short haha. Past few months have been super fun; I started working part time at the coffee shop so I had more time to focus on my training and whatnot. We had some banging weather but it seemed like every time I wanted to go downhilling I ended up soaking wet and in a torrential downpour! Oh well, it’s good training for what’s to come (world cups are almost always muddy!)
Besides training and working, I was approached by Alterna Films (alternafilms.ca) to make a little webisode of what I do in the off-season. It’s been super fun shooting with the guys; at one point I got to get all dressed up like a REAL girl and dance around in a studio haha super fun! Felt like a bit of a movie star, not gonna lie. However the real fun was shooting all the different types of riding I do, and seeing rough edits of it all coming together slowly. I’ve never done anything like this before, and had no idea how much time and effort it takes on their part to put together a simple 3min video. It’s crazy!
I also filled out a “12 Things” interview/article for Decline magazine, so be sure to check that out as well in the next couple of months!
I’m also extremely excited to be leaving Friday to go visit my good friend Vaea in Bromont before heading over to my first World Cups of the season; St. Anne and Windham. It’ll be my first time ever travelling and pitting with my new team members on the newly re-vamped Commencal PerformX Young Guns team! I’ll be travelling with fellow teammates Remi Gauvin and Casey Brown, our mechanic Mike Rothdram, trainer/team manager Todd Schumlick, and fellow friend/organizer/mother hen/CND DH Girls Miranda Miller. SO STOKED for this!
Stay tuned for more updates! Lots of fun coming your way!
